Terms of use

The service

StackPress turns publicly available articles into a formatted book file. You choose the source and the articles. The file is generated in your browser.

Content and rights

StackPress does not grant you any rights to the content you put in a book. You are responsible for having them.

  • Your own writing. Do what you like with it, including printing and selling.
  • Other people’s writing. Use the output for personal reading only, unless the author has given you permission for more. Do not distribute, sell, or print for sale a book made from content you do not own or license.
  • Do not use StackPress to get around a paywall or access controls.

If you are a publisher and want your site excluded, use the contact form.

Accounts

You do not need an account. If you make one, it keeps your books in a library. Keep your sign-in secure. One person per account.

Cost and license

StackPress is free. There are no plans and nothing to buy. The code is open source under the MIT license. Tips are welcome and never required. A tip buys nothing extra.

Printing

The print package is built to Lulu’s published specifications. Printing is a separate service you buy from the printer. Check their digital proof and order a single copy before a larger run. We are not responsible for a printer’s output.

Acceptable use

  • No automated or bulk use of the fetching endpoints outside the app.
  • No attempts to disrupt the service or reach systems that are not yours.

No warranty

StackPress is provided as is. Source sites change, and some articles will not convert cleanly. It is free software with no warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service means you accept them.
